Two Collections – One Day!
Buying Sports Card Collections
I’m always buying sports card collections, sometimes I even buy two in one day! Recently, I met someone in Vancouver and purchased their entire sports card collection! It contained everything from a 1954 Ernie Banks RC to multiple Gordie Howe‘s to a 1979 OPC Wayne Gretzky RC plus much more! Ernie Banks was one of the greatest Chicago Cubs ever, he was also one of the greatest baseball players to never appear in the post-season. In fact, Banks holds the major league record for most games played without a postseason appearance (2,528). As every hockey fans knows, Wayne Gretzky and Gordie Howe are two of hockey’s greatest legends. The younger Gretzky idolized Gordie Howe, and fashioned his own jersey number, #99, after Howe’s iconic number 9.
Later in the day, when I got back to the office, a collection sent from out of town was waiting for me to look through. I went through the items, contacted the owner and sent him payment within 3 hours of receiving his parcel. The collection I got in the mail had some great cards in it, including a Mickey Mantle, a rare George “Papa Bear” Halas, football card, and some other vintage hockey and baseball cards. When people send me their items, I never leave them hanging or wondering, I evaluate everything I receive promptly. Once we have agreed on a price, I send payment the same day or the next morning by certified bank draft via TD Canada Trust. Additionally, if you sent me your collection in the mail, and we come to a successful agreement, I will also reimburse you for the cost of postage.
